Our Waste -To-Wealth Enhancer (WWE) project is an innovation geared towards reasonably eradicating waste in Nigeria and indeed Africa.
Waste is a major contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG)emissions including methane emissions from organic waste, black carbon from burning and the CO2 embedded in the goods we consume .
Indiscriminate disposal of waste, unregulated land fill, burning of  wastes, blocking of drains with refuse, etc are major causes of environmental degradation , climate change, poor aquatic life ecological/health hazards .
There is urgent need to save our environment, our climate,our human and aquatic lives.
Our innovation WWE is taking ambitious action on waste by the Application of “4Rs’ Principles of waste management namely: Recycling of waste,Reducing of waste, Re-using or Re-Purposing of waste, Repairing of waste.
The 4Rs upon sanitising our cities and mitigating climate change will systematically and strategically;

• Promote entrepreneurship.
• Boost circular economy.
• Improve human health
• Sustain Aquatic lives, etc.

IMPACT
Waste management plays a crucial role in achieving a good number of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets, including:

1. SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation): Proper waste management prevents contamination of water sources by wastes, ensuring access to safe drinking water and sanitation.

2. SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure): Recycling and waste reduction technologies promote innovation, Industrialization.
Both the 2030 Agenda and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda focus on the relevance of inclusive and sustainable industrial development as the basis for sustainable economic growth.
Paragraphs 15 and 16 of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda respectively focus on “promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization” and on “generating full and productive employment and decent work for all and promoting micro, small and medium-size enterprises”
.So our waste recycling project promotes establishment of new factories and generates enormous job opportunities.

3. SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): Efficient waste management practices can improve the quality of life in urban areas by reducing pollution and fostering a healthy environment.

4. SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production): Proper waste management can help reduce the amount of waste generated, promote recycling and reuse,  and also encourage responsible consumption.

5. SDG 13 (Climate Action): Unmanaged waste, burning of waste etc, can contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, but waste management practices like composting, recycling, re-using, re-purposing, repairing, and waste-to-energy can help reduce emissions.

6. SDG 14 (Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development) : Our Ocean, the largest Planet’s ecosystem is grossly endangered by plastics pollution.Over 17m metric tons entered the ocean in 2021 and will triple by 2040. The application of our 4Rs (Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Repair) waste management principle is very imperative to save our oceans and the aquatic life.

In essence, waste management is an important aspect of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), because it provides a way to minimize the negative impact of human activities on the environment and to promote responsible use of resources.
